A feast for the senses

It was a privilege to be one of the three acts on the opening day of the Bishop’s Stortford College festival of literature, providing a Bengali street-food feast and live cooking demonstration for 70 guests. The other talks on the day were by Jay Rayner, the renowned restaurant critic food writer and TV presenter, and Michael Portillo, ex-Conservative cabinet minister, writer, broadcaster and railway enthusiast.

MasterChef 2013 – the final four

In May 2013 I reached the final four in BBC’s MasterChef competition for amateur cooks. The experience gave me the confidence to launch my dream career in food and I launched small aubergine, and my new career as a professional chef! I specialise in fine Bengali food inspired by my family heritage, and the emphasis is on great-tasting dishes, using simple techniques and the best of British produce.
